Live Authentically in a World Steeped in Illusion

Get Real: Live Authentically In A World Steeped In Illusion

by Alan Cohen –
Sitting backstage at a network television studio in a large metropolitan city, I waited to go on the air for an interview. My segment was scheduled right after the noon news broadcast, which began with a gory account of a murder, then a rape, then war footage, followed by bad economic news and a political scandal.
I began to feel depressed, but consoled myself that the broadcast would get to more positive reports. It didn’t. The entire fifteen minutes was filled with gloom and doom, nothing anyone in his right mind would want to get up in the morning and face.
Eventually I just had to laugh. The news was beyond depressing. It wasridiculous. It was unbelievable. Finally, after the closing sortie of auto accidents and snarled traffic, the broadcaster announced, “. . .and now for a great new book by an author who is going to tell you how to live a happy life.”
The camera turned to me.

The Red Pill or the Blue Pill?

Suddenly I became Neo in the movie The Matrix, in which wizard Morpheus extends two open hands, a red pill in one palm and a blue pill in the other. If Neo ingests the red pill, he will awaken to his true self and the real world. If he takes the blue pill, he will remain in a familiar but oppressive world of illusions.
I sat up straight and reached for the red pill. I told the audience that love is our birthright and fear the imposter. I took a stand for living authentically in a world consumed by illusions. I told the viewers that they deserved better than the world showed them, and they held power over their lives regardless of the insanity around them. It was the only news I knew how to broadcast.
After the program, the anchor, a highly-respected lifetime journalist, took me aside and told me, “I agree with you completely. I get depressed coming to this job. There has to be more to life than the world we are telling people there is.”

Is That All There Is?

The reality we have been shown by the media and other seemingly authoritative institutions has been twisted into the polar opposite of truth, championed by people more committed to bondage than freedom.
You have likely told someone about a valued vision of yours, to which he or she responded, “Get real!” Suddenly your excitement was reduced to ashes and you either gave up your quest or you had to once again build up the courage and momentum to forge ahead.
Take care to share your sacred visions with people who will empower you, not attempt to gobble your hopes in the shredder of doubt. If you have even one or two good friends who understand you and believe in you, that is sufficient. If it seems that no one understands or supports you, Higher Power has your back. Even when you do not have faith in yourself, God has faith in you.
When most people say, “Get real,” they mean, “Get small. Get limited. Get stuck. I am trapped in my little fear-bound world and your expansive vision is threatening to me. So I demand that you grovel in the mud with me. How dare you rock my tiny world with greater possibilities!” The premise is that success and happiness are unattainable illusions, while struggle and suffering are realities we must adjust to and live with.

Step Into Your Greatness

Most planetary game-changers were told, “Get real.” They were branded insane, shamed, imprisoned, tortured, and killed. The Catholic Church sentenced Galileo to house arrest for suggesting that the earth revolved around the sun.
Soon afterward Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno proposed that the sun was a star and that the universe contained an infinite number of inhabited worlds populated by other intelligent beings. Giordano was convicted of heresy and burned at the stake. When the judges issued his death decree he told them, “Perchance you who pronounce my sentence are in greater fear than I who receive it.”
Jonathan Swift later noted, “When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.” Einstein echoed, “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”
Every person is potentially great. Are you willing to step into your greatness, claim it, and live it?

Get Real and Be Authentic

The holiday season offers you many opportunities to get real in the presence of people who fear to get real themselves and call you to play small with them. Regard their resistance as a call for love and an invitation for you to be authentic.
When you stand for truth in the presence of illusion, you break the illusion for yourself and for everyone who subscribes to it. Your mission is to remain alive in a world preoccupied with death; to walk tall when others are compromising their integrity; to be who you are while others have forgotten who they are.
Reality is not for sissies. To live authentically in a world steeped in illusion is the gift of a lifetime, spreading light in ripples from your own life to the lives of everyone you touch.

Listen to the Stories You Tell Yourself

One of our most impressive powers as human beings is our power of language.

We use language as we speak externally to others and as we speak internally to ourselves. Part and parcel of that power are the stories we tell. Story telling is an essential and awesome aspect of our human experience. It is one of the ways we communicate how we make sense of the world — our interpretation of reality. As far as we know, it is a particularly human way of communication.

When we learn from stories and are expanded in our discovery of what it means to be a true human being, we benefit immeasurably.

If our stories serve to limit us or demean others, we — and others — suffer unnecessarily. In the willingness to simply stop telling the story that is causing suffering, there can be immediate opening and recognition of the truth of who one is. Stopping the telling and retelling of a story is different from making that story better. When we stop the story, if only for a moment of inquiry, we give up hope that the story itself will deliver what we long for.

The appearance of a story (physical story, mental story, emotional story or circumstantial story) needn’t be an obstacle to recognizing the peace that underlies all stories.

Quite often the most obscuring and entangling stories are the ones we do not even realize we are telling. Certain themes become so habitual that we don’t consider them stories. We consider them simply reality.

People who live their lives unaware that they are telling themselves a story consider their thoughts to be descriptions of reality.

If someone else has a conflicting description, that person is considered just to be wrong. It is a leap into maturity to realize that our descriptions of reality are our versions of reality. Certainly there is nothing wrong about a version of reality, but the recognition that it is a version, rather than reality itself, is humbling to our version of ourselves!

This form of immaturity is seen in many ways in the community of humanity. Finally the immaturity of excluding others’ versions of reality results in war. To the degree that we believe what we are telling ourselves to be correct, we are willing to die for it and send our children to die for it. We do this because we are certain of its rightness. And clearly this belief has its place in human evolution. There are values that need to be asserted and protected. Sadly, the balance of assertion and protection with tolerance and inclusion can easily go askew.
It seems possible that we are now at a stage in human development where we can actually tell the truth about our tendency to lose balance. We can individually and collectively take responsibility for both recognizing when balance has been lost and promoting its restoration.
The initial loss of balance is not the problem. The problem is in not seeing the loss, with the particular version of reality being rigidly and righteously defended.
We are human beings, and we have inherited many stories from our ancestors — genetic, archetypical stories, national and religious stories. They are part of our experience in a particular body. These stories are not inherently right or wrong. They are a unique and integral part of the mandala of our collective story.
If we aren’t aware that these stories are being told — both internally and externally — if we do not even know that they are stories, then we are unwittingly at their mercy and we miss an opportunity to mature.
I am inviting you to stop where you are in this moment of your life and turn your attention toward what you are telling yourself. Rather than assuming that what you are saying is correct; rather than turning your attention toward getting whatever the thought or story is directing you to achieve; or avoiding what you are being cautioned to avoid; or fighting what you are being incited to fight; you can turn your attention to what particular story is being told. You can discover what you are saying to yourself and others. You can overhear your thoughts and stories.
At any point, in any situation, in any story in your life, you have the capacity and the choice to actually discover what is underneath the language of thought.

What is unaffected, unmoved, unbound by the telling of any story? This inquiry has to do with your daily life. Each life experience is unique, and yet it comes from universal life, the universal core that is the same in all lives, all species, all moments, regardless of a particular version.

Through this inquiry you can discover the treasure of your being.

Unsolvable Illusions?

Once in a while it hits me. Life is simple, we make it complicated, and then I forget and make it complicated again. But in those brief shining moments it is brilliantly evident that what we know and experience is all perception and that the answer to everything lies in this premise. The problem, of course, is not only do we forget this simple fact, but also that there are those whose desire is to manipulate or confuse us, and we forget that too.

My sister sent me a math riddle that appeared freaky and impossible. I couldn’t figure it out until I did what I remind myself to always do, “Shift your perception, and begin with a different premise.” When I did that, the answer was obvious. The intention of the riddle was to confuse. It started with a perfectly logical premise and one that was easy to accept. But in that premise there was no answer – ever – because the premise began with an error.

When I shifted my premise, the answer was immediately evident.

The worldview is exactly like that. It begins with a premise that appears perfectly logical. It’s a premise that we easily accept. In fact, our five senses tell us that it’s true. Within that premise we search and search for answers. We read books, talk to friends, get counseling, let it go, have faith – but none of these methods provide an answer that works for long because they begin with a premise that is an illusion. There will never, ever, be a correct answer to an illusion.

When we begin with the correct premise, the answer is easy.

I was working on some writing that required me to copy what I had written on one piece of paper to another. I copied and pasted and saw nothing. In the past I would have assumed that I didn’t copy and paste correctly. I would have spent some time being confused and probably irritated at the problem.

This time I paused. I started with the premise that I had copied and pasted correctly. I highlighted the area on the page that I had pasted into and chose black for the text. “Magically” it appeared. It was always there. It was simply that I had pasted white to white so it was invisible to my eyes.

During a rescue attempt in the first Star Trek Episode, “The Menagerie,” the crew tries to blast through a mountain with their phasers. Nothing happens, so they attempt many other means of rescue without success. Finally, Spock and Captain Kirk realize that the Talosians, the inhabitants of the planet, are masters at creating illusions. Kirk and Spock begin again with the correct premise that their phasers DO work. Without additional effort, the illusion of the untouched mountain dissolves revealing the hole in the mountain that had been there all along.

It’s that simple really. The premise determines what we perceive as the outcome.

What premise do we begin with when attempting to discover an answer or dissolve a problem? If we begin with the premise that the worldview is correct and that our senses report the truth, we will never see the Truth and what is already present.

It is a lot less work to begin with the correct premise and let it reveal the answer than it is to try and make something work inside of an illusion. The great teacher Christ Jesus has told us all, “Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free.” Hum. Doesn’t that sound like the idea if we begin with the Truth – the correct premise – that it dissolves the prison of the worldview, without effort?

The effort belongs to the shift of perception.

The effort belongs to the letting go of false premises. The effort belongs to giving up personal preferences and ego. Once that is done, the work is over and what already is in abundance is ours to be and enjoy. Let’s celebrate together that the illusion has been revealed and all that is asked of us is to let it go and live in Truth.

Your Essence

by John Smallman –

The divine Love enfolding the planet is being widely felt and the news of war and suffering presented by the main media is a distraction to which you should pay minimal attention. Be aware that there is suffering, perhaps even your own but focus on God’s Love which is focused on you in every moment; accept it and share it by being yourself, the loving peaceful being that your Father created for eternal blissful existence, because that is who you truly are.

Being one with each other, your thoughts, attitudes and intentions affect all of humanity and the reason you are mostly unaware of this is because the illusion severely limits your ability to be aware. Remind yourself frequently of this truth during the day and intend to receive, accept and share your Father’s Love with everyone of whom you think or with whom you interact, without exception, as does your divine Father. This will bring you peace that will strengthen and intensify the more often you take moments to remind yourself and renew this intention throughout the day.

You were created in Love and so Love is your essence; it cannot be changed. Anything you experience that is not Love is illusory, ephemeral and will not endure.

Remember this — remember that all are one, and you cannot fail to be the pure and perfect beings that God created. It is time to leave the illusion behind, and to emerge and show your brilliant radiance of divine Love that you have been attempting to hide or disguise for far too long. As soon as you stop judging and start accepting one another your true radiance starts to show, encouraging others to do likewise.

You are experiencing existence in the illusion at this moment because you chose to bring in the Light to disperse it finally and forever. The Light, the Love and the compassion that are all aspects of your divine heritage suffuse you completely and are ready for you to display simply by accepting that fact. Any sense you may have of personal inadequacy is an attempt by your ego to disparage and shame you and draw you back into the endlessly repeating cycle of suffering and disappointment that is the illusion.

You are here to show the way out by radiating the brilliant Light of Love with which your Father has filled you and which others will see and follow, thus unmasking their own radiance and intensifying the Light. There is evidence all around you of Light Holders doing this in ever-increasing numbers as the Light spreads relentlessly through the illusion. This Light is divine, brilliant and inextinguishable and it is starting to be seen in even the darkest corners of your illusory environment. That environment cannot withstand the Light and will dissolve into nothingness before it, as always divinely promised and intended.

The moment for you to awaken into your real and eternal state of existence is drawing inexorably closer. It cannot and will not be prevented or delayed, so relax in the knowledge that the Reality of perfect divine peace and harmony will sweep away the dark clouds of the illusion in which it seems that you have been enshrouded for as long as you can remember. Nothing that is not part of God will endure. You are all part of God; the illusion is not. . . and will disintegrate. Your inheritance is secure, assured and eternally guaranteed by your loving Father.

Into Your Heart Center

Blue Star Light Energy

Awakening from the Dream:

We have heard your cries, your questions, your endless searching for answers to awaken from the dream of darkness, separation, despair and seeming hopelessness during many “times.” It is imperative for you all to know that as long as you believe you are somehow “separate” from Divine Source, the pain will continue – as this is what the “illusion” is and has been since the dawn of humanity.

Divine Source is One and exists as all of the creations that you see.

At the same time, there are aspects of each particle of individual existence that do display what is called free will and choice. As long as “free will and choice” choose to see an apparent separation from Divine Source, pain is felt on some level. This is mostly known as fear – and thus is the saying: “False Evidence Appearing Real.”

Many of you have heard similar messages in the past as truth is quite persistent – and unfailing. What many of you are not “getting” is that in the “apparent” “illusion” you are still one with Divine Source. You can choose to consciously live your lives as the beings of light that you have come to love, pray to, worship, and ask for guidance from. All aspects of Source are equal. All aspects of Source are part of One Source, and there are droplets – just as you have droplets of ocean water that are still part of the same ocean.

Please allow yourselves to move deeper into the heart center where all of your truth exists and cease to look for answers outside of your heart.

If you ask for guidance, this is fine, however, no person or book or thing can ever cause you to feel the oneness that you are. You can debate or trust. You can seek or find. You can keep searching in vain because there is only one place where you will come to find and feel peace and this place is within your heart – and your conscious awareness of your heart center – this is the most important place in which to “reside” and this is your heart center.

If you are looking for a complicated answer, then I cannot give that to you – as truth is quite simple. It is the ego – that seeks and disbelieves and looks, judges, questions and causes frazzled nerves and emotions that are discordant.

Simply look within your heart – and there is your connection to Divine Source.

Simply live completely from your heart center – and you will be living as the Angels and Ascended masters live, as well as other beings of light that have come to conscious awareness of their heart – it is this realization that will bring you inner peace and quite frankly, no other.

There is no “fix” – there is only love. This may sound too simple – however, the truth and love are the simplest concepts given unto you and yet the egoic mind continues to seek “out there somewhere” for an answer. The answer exists within love. Love exists within your heart. When you align your mind with your heart and live solely and completely from this place – you can then come to know, see, feel, experience and live as an example of “enlightened” inner peace.

The answer is simple and the experience of living purely from the heart center is profound.

It is peace filled – there is not “me” and “you” – there is only “us” as we are all One, and we always will be! Please refrain from seeking outside of your being for the “cure” to humanities woes – when the cure stems from the heart center of each “individual” aspect of the One.

You are never separate or alone – ever. You are always “at One” with Source – because you are Source. So when you say to yourself: “I am Source and Source is pure love, so I am pure love and will only live my life as pure love” this is all that matters. Now, if each “individual” aspect of Source did this – alas – humanity would be filled with inner and outer peace on all levels.

Many, so many of you are truly getting there. So many of you are choosing love over fear. Faith in heart over ego and might. Purity of motive over false idols and perceived “value” in outer symbols of worship. So many of you are truly awakening at levels that have been attained on Earth before by the Ascended masters that have shown humanity the way before. Now is no different. It just appears to be.

Please know that every answer to your every question is in your heart.

Move your mental focus on to your heart, and you will come to feel “at one” with the oneness that you always have been and always will be. The “illusion” is that you are separate. The “connection” to Oneness is in your heart – filled with pure love. Please remember this message as it will serve you every time you question “the big picture.” The answer to the big picture is love.

We watch you in joy as so many of you have become beacons for your own selves and are living a “higher” more love-filled existence to show the way for others that still are searching in the seeming dark. Search your heart, the answer lies within and the answer will always be love. Live as love – and you will then always be living as “The One” in all ways and for always – as that is what we all are.

Shedding 3D Illusions

by DL Zeta

Many of you are currently in a “waiting” space. You are observing the changes taking place around you and waiting for the next step to open before you. This next step is often perceived as a great opening in human consciousness where love, world peace and blessings flow in abundance. This is occurring, but some aspects of the New Earth are still not widely understood.

The next step may not be exactly as you have perceived it, and this is why there is a sense of waiting and uncertainty. Remember, it’s impossible to enter a new space by continuing to do the same things. Only the new can activate the new. To step into the new, you must become the new. You must bring your energy into alignment with the New Earth.

To take this step of activating energies still latent within your consciousness, it is necessary to look closely at ways in which you are still habitually entrenched in old ways of being. Fifth-dimensional consciousness is accessible within your present moment. If you hold beliefs or attitudes that say otherwise, it’s time to examine ways you’re blocking your access to these energies.

The Nature of the Karmic Wheel – A belief that binds many into third-dimensional consciousness has to do with karma. Many still habitually see themselves as needing to satisfy karma, whether it is from this life or another. This is similar to the perennial student who has difficulty leaving the university setting. The final stage of “graduation” requires you to take on a new level of self-responsibility that allows you to move beyond cause-and-effect.

What you think of as the “karmic wheel” is simply a set of universal understandings set forth as the curriculum of Earth school. Each being that incarnates to Earth arrives with the goal of furthering their understandings and gaining needed insights and experience. At some point after many, many incarnations, you complete these basic understandings determined by the same laws that govern the universe.

The Challenge of Stepping off the Karmic Wheel – You may find yourself feeling some resistance at this point. You may be saying “it’s not that easy to step off the karmic wheel.” Deep down, you may feel you don’t deserve to live free from the duties of preconceived “lesson plans.” This is not unlike the person graduating college who must now learn to design their own curriculum and lesson plans without the input of their team of advisors. It’s not that you will no longer undertake new areas of growth and exploration, but that you will now consciously choose and design these areas. This requires you to take 100% responsibility for every aspect of your existence.

This is what life is like beyond the confines of the karmic wheel. You step into the identity of “captain of your own ship.” From this point of empowerment, there is no longer any illusion of blame or victimhood. As an empowered individual, you meet each new challenge in your life with an open heart and mind, ready to embrace new levels of understanding. From this perspective, you are no longer a burden on those around you. Instead, you lift others up with the gift of your life working.

Your Karmic Debts Are Paid – Many old souls have already paid the price of admission to this new time. You have paid your karmic debts. You have completed all homework and lesson plans. You have examined yourselves repeatedly, taking great care to connect with your guidance and putting into place all that has been asked of you. There is nothing keeping you from entering the fifth dimension.

Understand, you cannot be forced to step past karma. In a free-will zone, you are free to grow through suffering and exist in state of limitation. This is a choice. What we’re telling you is that you are free to enter a place of fifth-dimensional consciousness and step into a new dimension within your own consciousness.

We offer here a “snapshot” of a soul that has satisfied karmic lessons:

This soul has practiced the ethic of good stewardship on the Earth, honoring and nurturing all kingdoms of life on the planet. They have willingly assisted those who walk two steps behind them, opening doors and mapping every frontier they encounter that others may walk more freely there. They have come into the understanding that what they do to another, they do to themselves; they have learned to see through the illusion, to joyfully greet all circumstances in their life as learning experiences, and to readily transform all energies they encounter with unconditional love. They have set their highest intentions, cultivated high-vibrational energies within, and radiated the light of spirit to all they encounter.

If this is the path you have followed, we congratulate you for your efforts. You may now receive your diploma and step off the karmic wheel.

If you still have some areas to complete, you can use the above description as a blueprint for bringing about this completion. You may also find it helpful to undertake a journey of self-examination to identify areas of your life you need to bring into sharper focus.

The Journey of Self-Examination – In order to step fully into this new dimension, you will need to examine every habit, every remaining attitude and belief that binds you into the third dimension, tethering you to the karmic wheel.

Examine the vibration of what you put into your body. Do you put low-vibrational packaged, toxic, irradiated and energetically dead foods into your body? Drugs, alcohol and pharmaceuticals can also contribute to a low-vibrational existence. Examine your habits. Look at what you do on a daily basis. Are your habits lifting you higher, leading you to a time of greater love and peace, or are they leading you into more of the same limiting energies you have experienced over and over?

Examine your emotions. Do you blame others for any aspect of your existence? Are you engaging in self-pity and feeling yourself a victim of life? Are there any ways in which you burden others by refusing to take complete responsibility for yourself? Do you often experience negative emotions and feel the world is against you? If so, it is time to go back to square one and study the Law of Attraction and other universal laws. This is the path to understanding how the universe truly works.

Examine your vision for your life. Is it limited in any way? Do you receive visions that you write off as “undo-able”? What do you see for yourself? What is your current identity? Is it in need of an update? Examine any ways in which you limit who you can be and what you can do.

As you examine and address each of these areas, you are able to snip any strings that still hold you into third-dimensional consciousness. Once this is done, you are free to step into the next version of yourself, the “you” who is free of karmic debt and experiencing the vastly expanded energies and flowing blessings of the New Earth.

The Philosophy of Nonduality

by Remez Sasson –

Rising Above Illusion:

The philosophy of Nonduality says that there is just One Spirit in the Universe, and that everything, living or inanimate, is an inseparable and indivisible part of this One Spirit. Nonduality further says that it is only illusion, caused by the mind and the play of the senses, which makes us regard the world and everything in it, as real and separate from us.

For someone not familiar with this philosophy, it might sound strange and even weird, but once understood, it can completely change one’s attitude and perspective about life.

Imagine a state, in which you feel oneness with the Universe, enjoying bliss and peace of mind, and at the same time acting and functioning normally in your day-to-day life. A state of being active in the world, but at the same time maintaining a state of inner detachment. Being aware of your oneness with the One Spirit, and also aware that the One Spirit is acting and manifesting through everything, matter, plants, trees, animals and people. This is the experience of nonduality in its highest form.

Our thoughts and five senses draw the mind outside, to the external world, and obscure the awareness of the consciousness that is beyond the mind. Through meditation, we gain inner peace and the ability to silence the mind and lift up the obscuring veil of thoughts. In this state of inner silence we rise above the illusion of identification with the mind, thoughts and ego, get beyond the illusion of separateness, and realize the oneness with the One Spirit. It is as if a new sort of consciousness dawns, and we see the world in a different way.

With this kind of consciousness we are able to allow the mind to be active or silent at our command. It becomes our faithful servant, instead of being our master. We act in the material world, yet our roots are in pure, calm and limitless consciousness, which is not attached to anything and not limited by anything. In this state, we live and view the world from the nonduality point of view.

Though in our day-today life we regard other people, as separate from us, as separate units, this is only a mental viewpoint, convenient for functioning in our day to day life. From a higher state of consciousness, all are One, and the terms “I”, “you”, “he”, “she” and “they” are not real. There is only the One Spirit, Consciousness, which manifests in limitless forms and ways. The external forms may be different, but the Spirit within them is one undivided Spirit. It is the mind, which lets us believe and feel that we are separate from others, but we are all part of the same One Spirit manifesting and expressing itself through different forms.

The concept of nonduality is not a strange or weird idea. It can be experienced and lived right here and now, no matter where you are, and without attracting anybody’s attention. It is an inner state of consciousness, not an external state.

It is possible to realize and experience the meaning of nonduality in an ashram or a cave, and it is also equally possible to do so while living in a town or city, with family and a job. This requires dedication, an open mind, inner work, and turning the mind inwards.

Most people cannot afford to leave everything behind, in order to meditate and lead a purely spiritual life. They need to work and support their family, and can therefore devote only part of the day to spiritual pursuits. The good news is that you can walk on the inner path of spirituality and nonduality, meditation and self realization, without abandoning your family, job or external life style. With proper planning, it is possible to find the time and the energy for the inner work.

Meditation and walking on the spiritual path, which can lead to understanding and experiencing nonduality, can be practiced anywhere, without making external changes in your life. You can stay with your job and family, and still make spiritual progress and realize the true meaning nonduality.

Look within you, be aware of what is going in your mind, search for the source of your thoughts and where they come from, learn to make your mind peaceful, and you will start to be aware of your true essence and the consciousness beyond your mind. This will lead to understanding what nonduality is. What can help? A peaceful mind, concentration, meditation, reading of spiritual literature, and when possible, the proximity and guidance of true spiritual teachers.
